Well, folks, it's been a wild ride in the book of Matthew, and this chapter is no exception. Jesus is back in Jerusalem, and he's doing some serious showboating. He enters the city on a donkey and the crowds are singing, waving palms, and shouting "Hosanna!" Then Jesus goes to the temple and starts flipping tables and driving out the merchants and money changers. →

Robin: Holy hard lessons, Batman! Jesus is really getting tough with the people of Jerusalem. Batman: Indeed, Robin. He entered the city with great fanfare, being hailed as a King. But then he went to the temple and saw merchants in the outer court. →

1-17. Folks! Here's the deal. Years ago, Jesus, who was, like, literally the Son of God, right? He was on his way to Jerusalem, and there he was met by some of his followers who were, like, shouting and carrying on, so he told them, c'mon, man, you're gonna have to quiet down, this ain't no party, okay? So they went to the city, and outside the gates Jesus sent two of 'em to get a donkey and a colt, and they did, and he rode into Jerusalem on that donkey, and all the people were shouting and throwing their coats on the ground and all. →

Matthew 21 is AMAZING! Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey, while the people cheer, and say “Hosanna!” He goes into the temple and throws out the money changers and merchants, because they were overcharging and not following the rules. →
