Hey there, Bible fans! It's me, Norm MacDonald with a summary of the book of Matthew, chapter 5. In this chapter, Jesus is teaching his disciples about being humble and forgiving. He says that if you're humble, you'll be blessed and if you forgive others, you'll be forgiven. →

Joe: Alright, alright, we're back with another chapter of the Bible! Alright, so what's going on in Matthew 5? Bible Expert: Well, Joe, this is the famous chapter where Jesus begins his famous Sermon on the Mount. →

Listen up, troops! This is Matthew chapter 5, and it's all about how Jesus wants us to live. He talks about how blessed those who mourn, those who are meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, those who are merciful, those who are pure in heart, those who are peacemakers, and those who are persecuted for righteousness. →

Robin: Holy Scripture, Batman! It looks like we've just stumbled across the fifth chapter of the book of Matthew! Batman: Indeed, young ward. What does it say? Joker: I'll tell you what it says! It says that Jesus is introducing the concept of righteousness to his followers. →

Folks, here's the deal. See here, Jack, what I'm trying to say is this. In Matthew 5, Jesus said some pretty incredible things. C'mon, man, he said it's better to be poor and meek than to be rich and proud. →

Matthew 5: Jesus is a terrific guy - many people are saying - and He had some amazing things to say. In the sermon on the mount, He talked about a lot of important stuff - like how blessed are those who are poor in spirit and how blessed are the persecuted - and much more. →

[Peter Griffin:] Alright, so chapter 5 of Matthew is about the Beatitudes. It starts out with Jesus telling his followers to be blessed if they're poor in spirit, meek, merciful, pure of heart, peacemakers, and persecuted for righteousness. →
