Alright, alright, so Jeremiah 20. This chapter is all about Jeremiah moaning and groaning about the Lord punishing him for speaking out against the wickedness of the people of Judah. He’s complaining that the Lord has made him a laughingstock and that he’s tormented by the people’s taunts. He’s like, “God, why did you even bother making me a prophet if all I get is grief?” But then he comes back around to say that despite all the ridicule he’s faced, he’s still going to keep prophesying. He’s like, “Might as well keep going, I’ve got nothing else to do.” And then he ends with a big ol’ “woe is me” – typical Jeremiah.
