Deuteronomy 25: A real barn-burner of a chapter, folks. It's all about the rules of retribution. If one of your family members dies, but they don't have a male heir to carry on their name, the brother of the deceased is supposed to marry the widow and have a kid. You don't even have to ask the brother's permission, it's mandatory! Also, if two guys are fighting and one of them puts his hand on the other one's thigh, the hand must be cut off. No exceptions! And don't forget about the oxen - if one is being stubborn, don't hit it with a stick, just use your hands. All in all, Deuteronomy 25 is a real eye-opener.
