Peter: Alright, this chapter of the Bible starts off with King Ahab wanting to purchase a vineyard owned by a fellow named Naboth.

Brian: That sounds like a place I'd like to buy some wine!

Lois: Brian, this is serious.

Peter: Yeah, so Ahab offers Naboth money, but he refuses to sell.

Brian: That's a bummer.

Peter: Then Queen Jezebel devises a plan to falsely accuse Naboth and have him executed, so Ahab can take the vineyard.

Lois: That's terrible.

Brian: Yeah, I'd be pretty mad if someone falsely accused me of something.

Peter: So God sends his prophet Elijah to confront Ahab and tell him that he will suffer the consequences of his actions.

Lois: Oh no.

Brian: Wow, that's like an episode of Law and Order.

Peter: Yeah, so Ahab repents and God decides to spare him, but his family will suffer the consequences for his actions.

Lois: That's so sad.

Brian: Yeah, it's like something out of a Shakespearean tragedy.
