Batman: Robin, this chapter of the Bible is a doozy. King Ahab of Israel wanted a vineyard that belonged to his neighbor Naboth, but Naboth refused to sell it.

Robin: So what did Ahab do?

Batman: He was so angry that he sulked in his palace. But his wife Jezebel had other plans. She wrote letters to the leaders of Naboth's city, telling them to accuse Naboth of blasphemy.

Catwoman: Blasphemy? That's a pretty serious crime.

Batman: Indeed it is. Jezebel's plan worked, and Naboth was stoned to death. Then Ahab took possession of the vineyard.

Joker: That's quite a story. I'm sure the Lord wasn't too happy about it.

Batman: You're right, Joker. The Lord sent the prophet Elijah to confront Ahab. Elijah told him that he would pay dearly for his wickedness and the Lord would punish his descendants. And sure enough, Ahab's son was killed and his family was driven out of the kingdom.
