Batman: Robin, it looks like we've got another case of biblical proportions.

Robin: What's the story, Batman?

Batman: In this chapter of 1 Kings, we learn that the Lord spoke to a prophet, who warned the people of Israel of their impending judgement if they continued to worship other gods.

Robin: That doesn't sound good!

Batman: No, it's not. Even worse, it's revealed that King Jeroboam's son had become sick and was about to die. The prophet Ahijah told Jeroboam that his son would die and that all of his descendants would be removed from power.

Robin: That's terrible!

Batman: It is. Even worse, Jeroboam's wife went to the prophet Ahijah to confirm the prophecy, and the prophet told her that the Lord was going to punish Jeroboam and the whole nation of Israel for their evil deeds.

Robin: Wow, that's pretty harsh.

Batman: It certainly is. But the Lord is just, and He is always watching. We must remember to honor Him and His commandments, and to follow His laws. That is the only way to avoid His wrath.
