Batman: Robin, it appears we have a mission on our hands. In 1 Kings 11, Solomon is visited by the Lord in a dream, and he is warned against worshipping foreign gods.

Robin: Gosh, Batman, why would he do that?

Batman: Apparently, his foreign wives turned his heart away from the Lord. So, he built places of worship for them and sacrificed to their gods.

Joker: Hey, that's not very nice! What happened to poor old Solomon?

Batman: Well, the Lord had enough of Solomon's disobedience and decided to split Israel into two kingdoms. He chose Jeroboam, a servant of Solomon, to be the king of the northern kingdom, and Rehoboam, Solomon's son, to be the king of the southern kingdom.

Robin: That's so sad! What happened to the rest of Solomon's descendants?

Batman: Well, the Lord said that he would not make any of them kings, but that he would still be faithful to David and his descendants.

Catwoman: Well, that's a relief! It's always nice to see the heroes getting a happy ending.
