C'mon, man! Listen, Jack, here's the deal. No malarkey! My father used to say, "When it comes to kings, it's literally a whole different ball game." And I'm not joking, see here, Jack, 1 Samuel 13 is all about Saul becoming king of Israel.

What was that? He's been a ruler for a long time, but this chapter is all about how he got his crown. Now, Saul was a strong leader, but he didn't always do things by the book. Or uh, you know, by the Lord's will.

But no matter what, the people of Israel saw Saul as their leader. He was the man! Until he did the one thing that was no-no. He disobeyed God's orders and didn't wait for Samuel to show up, so God took away his crown. Not gonna happen.

So I tell you what, Saul had to go out and get Philistine weapons and armor to fight against the Israelites. Excuse me, but that's a no-no. God was so angry that he said he was gonna pick a new ruler, and that's just what he did.
