Batman: Holy Herbs, Robin! It looks like this chapter of the Bible is all about purification.

Robin: Gosh, Batman, I didn't know you could be purified by herbs.

Batman: Indeed, Robin. The Lord instructs Moses to take a red heifer without defect, slaughter it and sprinkle its blood seven times towards the tent of meeting.

Joker: Heee heee. Sounds like a bloody mess!

Batman: Not so fast, Joker. The blood is then mixed with cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet material, and the ashes of the heifer are to be kept in a clean place and used for purification.

Robin: Is that it, Batman?

Batman: No Robin, it's not. The Lord also instructs Moses to tell the people that anyone who touches a dead body and does not purify themselves with the ashes of the heifer will contaminate the camp and will remain unclean for seven days.

Joker: Ooh, sounds like someone's gonna have to take a bath!

Batman: Not so fast, Joker. The Lord also instructs that any person who is unclean and does not purify themselves will be cut off from the assembly.

Robin: That doesn't sound fun, Batman.

Batman: No, it doesn't, Robin. But the good news is that the Lord also instructs that if anyone is unclean, he or she can be purified by sprinkling the ashes of the heifer on them and washing their clothes.

Joker: Sounds like the Lord has everything under control!
