Batman: Trouble ahead, Robin! We need to keep a close eye on the Israelites as they get ready to march across the desert.
Robin: To the Batmobile!
Batman: Not so fast, young ward! In Numbers 8, the Lord instructs Moses to set up the lamps in the tabernacle to be a continual burning before the Lord.
Joker: What's that? A burning desire to bring the Israelites to their knees?
Batman: Not quite, Joker. These lamps are a symbol of the Lord's presence among the people.
Catwoman: Sounds like a boring chapter. What else is there?
Batman: Well, Catwoman, the Lord also commands Moses to consecrate the Levites as priests, who will serve in the tabernacle.
Robin: And they shall be a sign of holiness!
Batman: That's right, Robin. And speaking of signs of holiness, at the end of the chapter the Lord commands that the Levites are to be purified with water, shaved and washed with water, and then presented to the Lord as a wave offering.
