So uh, here we are in 1 Samuel 27. We've got David, who's on the run from King Saul (yeah, it's a long story). So David tries to find a safe place for himself and his men, and he decides on Philistine territory. He winds up working for their king, Achish, and his men help him fight his enemies. But then Achish finds out that David's been raiding other settlements, and he's not happy. So Achish kicks David out, and David and his men head back home. Moral of the story: crime doesn't pay, even if your enemies are really, really bad guys.
