Well, folks, we are back in 1 Samuel 14 and it's a doozy. It all starts with Jonathan, son of King Saul, and his trusty armor bearer taking on a mighty force of Philistines. They manage to pull off an impressive victory, but King Saul is still upset that they didn't consult him first. So in a fit of rage, he calls for a nationwide ban on eating, which the people adhere to as a sign of loyalty. But then Jonathan realizes he's not following the ban, so he takes a chance and eats some honey. This makes King Saul realize that the people are more loyal to Jonathan than him, so he calls off the ban and they all have a good feast. The moral of the story? Don't mess with Jonathan!
