Listen, Jack, I'm tellin' ya, Numbers 34 is a real doozy. See here, Jack, it starts off with some pretty serious business. We got God talking about setting boundaries for the Promised Land. He literally says, "This is the land that is to be allotted to the Israelites as their possession." He then gives all the details - the boundaries from the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean, from the Jordan to the Euphrates. I tell ya, it's a lot. No malarkey!

But then, folks, it gets real interesting. God tells Moses to appoint men to go and survey the land and divide it among the tribes. My father used to say, "That's a big job!" And then, what was that? Oh yeah, God then tells Moses to take Joshua with him. I'm not joking! He says, "You shall commission Joshua the son of Nun, and you shall say to him, 'Be strong and courageous!'"

Now, excuse me, but I gotta tell ya, the chapter ends with some pretty serious warnings. C'mon, man! God says, "Take care lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you go, lest it become a snare in your midst." See here, Jack, that's a warning that literally means: don't mess with these local people. Or uh, you know, they'll be trouble. Not gonna happen if I can help it.
