Folks, here's the deal. This chapter of Numbers is all about, uh, inheritance and whatnot. See here, Jack, when a person dies without heirs, the next of kin has the right to take the inheritance. My father used to say, "No malarkey!" No, I'm not joking. This is the way it is. Now, the daughters of Zelophehad come to Moses and ask for their inheritance, and Moses takes it to the Lord. And the Lord says, "Hey, c'mon, man! Let the daughters of Zelophehad have the inheritance. It's only fair!" Literally. So, that's what happens. And, uh, what was that? Oh, yeah, and the Lord tells Moses to appoint Joshua as the leader of the Israelites. No way Moses can do this job forever, right? So, I tell you what, Joshua is the man for the job. It's the only thing that makes sense. Excuse me, but that's the way it is.
