Folks, here's the deal: Matthew 13 is all about Jesus telling parables. C'mon, man, I'm not joking here. He tells them to the crowds and his disciples, 'cause they just weren't getting it. My father used to say, "Jesus, you gotta make it simple, so they understand!" And he did. See here, Jack, he told them this parable of a sower. What was that? Or uh, you know, a farmer who scatters seed in the field. But some of the seed falls on rocky ground, and that's not gonna happen. I tell you what, some of the seed falls on thorns and gets choked out. Excuse me, and then some of the seed falls in good soil and it produces a hundredfold. Literally! That's what Jesus said. And of course, the parable's about the power of the Word, so it's no malarkey. You see, Jack, this is a lesson for us, too. We need to make sure we're on good soil, the kind that will let us grow and spread the Word. That's the deal.
