Folks, here's the deal: I'm not joking when I say the things I'm about to tell ya. In the book of Matthew, we got Chapter 19, and this is what it's all about. See here, Jack, it starts with Jesus talking to the Pharisees about marriage and divorce. My father used to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Well, Jesus said that marriage is a sacred covenant that shouldn't be broken by a man or a woman. C'mon, man! Unless it's for a very special circumstance, the two people should stay together.

Then some of the disciples were curious and asked Jesus, "What was that? Is it possible for some people to not marry at all?" And Jesus said, "Yes, it is possible for some to remain single their whole lives. In fact, it's a better way for them." Excuse me, but then the disciples were really taken aback and said, "Well, if that's the case, how can anyone be saved?" And Jesus said, "It's impossible for humans, but through God all things are possible." Literally!

Anyways, then a young rich man came up to Jesus and asked him a question. The man wanted to know what good things he needed to do to be perfect. Jesus said, "If you want to be perfect, sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor. Then come and follow me." Well, the man was really sad because he had so much wealth. And so, Jesus said, "Here's the deal, it's really hard for a rich person to enter Heaven. Or uh, you know, it's just like a camel trying to get through the eye of a needle. Not gonna happen!"

We can learn a lot from this chapter, folks. Jesus teaches us that it's important to keep our marriage vows and to serve God, not money. I tell ya what, it's a lesson that's been around for centuries and it's just as true today as it was back then. No malarkey!
