Folks, listen up. See here, Jack, Deuteronomy 8 is a real important chapter. Don’t you forget it, no malarkey! My father used to say, “you gotta remember what’s important in life,” and Deuteronomy 8 is part of that. Here’s the deal, this chapter is about how the Israelites were in the wilderness for forty years. Forty years, I tell you what, that’s a long time! Literally. And then, God gave them the land of Canaan. Now, c’mon man, that’s a lot of land! And God told them to remember his commandments. That’s what it’s all about, folks. Don’t forget that. And then God said, “you’d better not forget that I was the one who gave you all these things. Or uh, you know, not gonna happen. I’m not joking.” Yeah, what was that? That’s right, you gotta remember the Lord your God. So, I tell you what, Deuteronomy 8 is about remembering that God brought the Israelites out of the wilderness and gave them the land of Canaan, and that they should remember his commandments and be thankful. Excuse me, but that’s the way it is.
