Folks, here's the deal, I'm not joking. See here, Jack, 2 Chronicles 16 is all about King Asa of Judah. Now, my father used to say that during his 35-year reign, he did a lot of good things. He removed the pagan idols and all the other malarkey that was going on, and he was a good king, no doubt about it.

But, c'mon man, Asa also made a big mistake that he paid for. He didn't seek the Lord when a huge army came to attack him. He didn't even ask God for help, and that's a problem. He just sought help from other countries, and the Lord was not pleased.

Now, the prophet Hanani came to him and said, "uh, you know, you should have trusted God, and not just relied on other countries for help." Asa was so mad that he threw Hanani in prison, which was definitely a bad move.

So, that's the deal with 2 Chronicles 16. Asa was a good king, but he should have sought the Lord for help when he needed it. I tell you what, no malarkey--you should always trust God and not man. Literally, it's a lesson we can all learn from.
