Folks, here's the deal. C'mon, man, if you don't remember what happened in the book of 2 Chronicles, let me tell you what. Ah, see here, Jack, this chapter is all about King Jehoiada and his plan to restore the Davidic Dynasty. You see, he orders the priests to bring out the king’s son and crown him as the new king of Israel. Now, no malarkey, I'm not joking when I say this was a major event. I mean, literally, it had been over 400 years since the last king of the Davidic Dynasty had been crowned! Now, what was that? Oh, right. My father used to say, “A man with a plan can make anything happen!” Well, Jehoiada sure had a plan—and it worked! He had the people of Judah come together to support the new king and to get rid of all the idols in the temple. And that's not all. Excuse me, he also made sure the Levites were in charge of the temple security. Jehoiada knew that the king was still too young to rule effectively, so he made the people take an oath of loyalty to the Davidic Dynasty. Whoa, that was a long time ago. Or uh, you know, two thousand years, if you wanna get technical about it. But let me tell you what, folks, it's a story that still resonates today. Not gonna happen that we forget it any time soon.
