So folks, we're in 1 Kings 2 now and things are heating up. King David is on his deathbed and he's giving his son Solomon some pretty heavy advice: obey God, carry out justice, and be strong. Apparently, he's been planning ahead because he's already set up some arrangements with some of his enemies, and he's making sure Solomon knows all about it. Then, King David passes away, and Solomon is officially king. He's gotta hit the ground running, because he's got a lot of work to do. He's got to make sure that all of King David's arrangements are honored, and then he's got to start setting up his own administration. He's got a big job ahead of him, but he's ready to roll.
