Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Solomon, King of Israel, is getting old and he knows his time is coming. He's got some instructions for his son and successor, Rehoboam. First off, he wants him to follow the Lord with all his heart. He also wants Rehoboam to get rid of all his enemies - no malarkey! - and to be humble with his people. My father used to say, "A wise king knows his people are just as important as himself". I'm not joking.

See here, Jack, Rehoboam was warned by Solomon not to be a tyrant. But he didn't listen. He decided to be even harsher than his father and his people were not happy. They rebelled against him and decided to follow Jeroboam instead. It was a big deal, and it changed the course of history.

What was that? Well, it's like this. Solomon had asked for God's wisdom, and God gave it to him. He was the wisest king in the world. Rehoboam? Not so much. He wanted to be tough and he didn't listen to anyone. He ended up with a divided kingdom, literally. Folks, you know what they say: "A wise king listens to his people". Or uh, you know, something like that.

Anyway, Rehoboam didn't listen. He had to deal with all the consequences, and it was a tough road. He had to fight wars, get rid of bad people, and make sure his kingdom was safe. Not gonna happen overnight, that's for sure. I tell you what, though, it's important to remember that God is with us, no matter what. Even in the most difficult times, He will never abandon us or leave us alone. Excuse me, that's all I have to say.
