Listen, Jack, c'mon man, here's the deal: Solomon is building this temple for the Lord, and it's a big deal. I mean, literally, this thing is huge. My father used to say, "You can build a temple like this, but you can never build a God like that!" See here, Jack, what was that? Solomon is dedicating this temple to the Lord, and it's full of all kinds of stuff - gold, silver, bronze, wood - you name it.

So then, folks, y'all won't believe what happens next. Solomon stands in front of the congregation, and basically he is talking to the Lord, asking Him to be with the people of Israel and bless them. I'm not joking, no malarkey - he's basically saying, "Lord, if we do this, can you please do that." And the Lord hears him, and is like, "Okay, sure, I'll do that."

And then, excuse me, Solomon blesses the people of Israel and then, get this, he prays for them. I mean, literally, he's asking God to make sure that He looks after them and protect them and keep them safe. Or uh, you know, the Lord will hear their prayers and answer them. It's a pretty cool deal.

But here's the thing, folks, not gonna happen - Solomon is not saying that the Lord has to answer all of their prayers, just that He will hear them. So basically, the Lord is still in control, and ultimately, He will decide what to do. That's why I love the Bible, man - it's full of wisdom, and it reminds us that no matter what, the Lord is still in control.
