So, 1 Kings 4. It's a real rollercoaster. We got a new king on the throne, Solomon, and he's really flexin' his power. He's gonna do some reorganizing and he starts by splitting the country into twelve districts. So far, so good. But then he appoints twelve district governors and they're all his buddies. Not exactly the most impartial ruling crew. Then, Solomon increases his wealth by collecting taxes and hiring mercenaries. Talk about ruling with an iron fist. Finally, he hires a bunch of historians to document all his accomplishments. Talk about a guy who likes to talk himself up. That's 1 Kings 4, folks.
