Listen up, recruits! Genesis 15 is all about a guy named Abram. God makes a covenant with him and tells him He's gonna make his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. Well, Abram has doubts about this and God decides to prove it to him by making him cut a bunch of animals in half and laying them out in two rows. This was a pretty common practice back in the day and was used to make a promise. Then, God makes a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch pass between the animal halves. This was God's way of sealing the deal with Abram and showing him that He was serious about all that stuff He said. That's it for Genesis 15!
