Alex Trebek: "So, what did you do this weekend?"

Contestant: "Well, Alex, I read Genesis 15 of the Bible. It's about how God promised Abraham a great nation and assured him that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky."

Alex Trebek: "Ah, that's nice. So what else did you do this weekend?"

Contestant: "Well, God also promised that Abraham's descendants would be given a land from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates. To seal the covenant between God and Abraham, God asked Abraham to sacrifice some animals. Afterward, God provided a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch to serve as a sign of the covenant."

Alex Trebek: *sighs* "Okay, so what did you do for fun this weekend?"

Contestant: "Oh, I also read about how God promised Abraham that his descendants would be enslaved in a foreign land for 400 years, but then return to the promised land. And God promised to protect the descendants of Abraham and bring them back to the land of their ancestors."

Alex Trebek: *rolling his eyes* "Yes, very interesting. Is there anything else you'd like to talk about?"

Contestant: "Well, after God made the covenant with Abraham, he put Abraham into a deep sleep and then appeared to him in a vision. In the vision, God showed Abraham the land of Canaan and promised him that it would be given to his descendants forever. It was a sign of God's faithfulness and a reminder that he kept his promises."

Alex Trebek: *sighs again* "Well, that's certainly very...umm...interesting. So what else did you do this weekend?"
