Alex: So, what have you been up to lately? Contestant: Well, I've been studying the Bible. I'm currently on Genesis 41. Alex: Uh oh. [Rolls eyes] Alright, let's hear it. Contestant: So in this chapter, Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, has a dream. He has two dreams that are exactly the same, and he can't figure out what they mean. He calls in all the wise men of Egypt, but none of them can interpret the dreams. Then his cupbearer remembers that Joseph, who is in prison, can interpret dreams, so Pharaoh has Joseph brought before him. Joseph interprets the dreams, saying that there will be seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Pharaoh is so pleased that he puts Joseph in charge of preparing for the famine.

Alex: [Sighs] So what else? Contestant: Pharaoh gives Joseph a new name, Zaphnath-paaneah, and a new title, ruler of all Egypt. He makes Joseph his assistant and gives him a wife, Asenath. Joseph is also given the responsibility of gathering food during the years of plenty and storing it away for the years of famine. He's very successful and is able to save the entire country from starvation. The chapter ends with Joseph becoming the father of two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

Alex: [Rolls eyes again] Alright, why don't we move on to something else?
