Listen, Jack, here's the deal. In 2 Kings 6, the people of Israel are literally at war with their enemies, the Syrians. It's been going on for a while, but then something really strange happens. The prophet Elisha gets wind of the Syrians' plans, and he tells the king of Israel, so they can ambush the enemy. C'mon, man! The Syrians were so confused they didn't know what was going on.

But that's not all. Not even close! The Syrians then start to lay siege to the city of Dothan, and the king of Israel sends an army out to protect it. My father used to say a good defense is the best offense, and that's exactly what happens here. The king's army is outnumbered, but with the help of Elisha, they literally make the enemy blind. See here, Jack, I'm not joking. They've got no idea where they are, so they just march right off in the wrong direction.

But then the Syrians find out they've been tricked. What was that? They come back around, and Elisha prays for the Lord to open the eyes of his people. Excuse me, folks, but this is where it gets amazing. The Lord opens the eyes of the king's army and they see the entire Syrian army surrounded by horses and chariots of fire. No malarkey! The Syrians are so scared they run away.

So, I tell you what. This 2 Kings 6 is a great lesson in trusting God. He'll literally watch over us, no matter what the odds. Or uh, you know, even if it looks like the sky is falling. Not gonna happen! That's what I learned from the Bible.
