Listen Jack, I'm not gonna tell you no malarkey! Here's the deal, 2 Kings 1 is all about the prophet Elijah. Now Elijah was a cool guy, my father used to say he was the greatest of the prophets! He was such a prophet that he was taken up to heaven in a fiery chariot! Literally!

Now, King Ahaziah was not so blessed. He was so sick, that he sent messengers to ask a false god for his health back. C'mon, man! That's not gonna happen! So Elijah hears about this and he sends a message to the king that said, "Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to ask a false god for help?" See here, Jack, that was not the right thing for the king to do.

So, Elijah sends a few more messengers to the king, but the king's men get angry and they ask Elijah, "What was that?" Elijah responds, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Well, or uh, you know, God doesn't want that to happen so Elijah is like, "Nah, nevermind, I'm not gonna do that".

So, Elijah gets sent to the king and he's like, "Hey, I'm the one you've been asking for, here's why you shouldn't be asking false gods for help." But the king's like, "Nah, I'm not convinced" so Elijah says, "I tell you what, if you don't believe me, then let the fire from heaven come down and consume you." And that's when the king finally gets convinced and he repents of his sins. I'm not joking! And that's the story of 2 Kings 1, folks!
