Listen, Jack, here's the deal. 2 Kings 11 is all about Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram. She takes the baby king, Joash, and hides him from Athaliah, the wicked queen who has taken over the kingdom. Jehosheba hides him in the Temple of the Lord for six years, so Athaliah couldn't get her hands on him. Then, when Joash is seven years old, the High Priest Jehoiada leads a coup and crowns Joash as the rightful King of Judah. For good measure, Jehoiada kills Athaliah, so she can't mess with the kingdom anymore. No malarkey! Literally, it's an amazing tale of courage and loyalty. My father used to say, "If you want to keep your kingdom safe, surround yourself with loyal people." I'm not joking--that's what Jehoiada did, and it worked! See here, Jack--what was that? Joash goes on to reign for 40 years, so you can see what a good job Jehoiada did. Or uh, you know, it's a good reminder that loyalty and courage can take you a long way. I tell you what--excuse me--it doesn't get much better than that!
