Listen, Jack, c'mon man! Here's the deal. It was back in the days of King Josiah. He was a righteous king, no malarkey! He was only eight years old when he became the king of Judah, literally! And it was his father, King Amon, who had the people of Judah worshipping idols, which was obviously a no-no. So, King Josiah set out to restore the Temple of the Lord.

My father used to say, "It's never too late to do the right thing!" And I'm not joking, see here, Jack, King Josiah was just the man for the job. He had the priests, scribes, and the people of Judah all helping him to restore the Lord's Temple.

What was that? Oh, yeah, so they found the Book of the Law of the Lord in the Temple. It was a big deal, 'cause they hadn't heard from the Lord in a long time. The high priest, Hilkiah, and the scribe, Shaphan, read it out loud to King Josiah. The king was so moved by what he heard that he tore his clothes and wept before the Lord.

Now, folks, can you believe it - King Josiah then called for a meeting of all the people and read the Book of the Law to them. He even made a covenant with the Lord and promised to keep all the commandments in the Law. He also made the people of Judah promise to do the same.

I tell you what, folks, King Josiah was a righteous king. He was trying to restore the Temple of the Lord and the people of Judah to their former glory. But, unfortunately, it was not to be. Or uh, you know, not gonna happen. No matter how hard King Josiah tried, he couldn't stop the Babylonians from invading Judah. So, that's the story of King Josiah and his attempt to restore the Temple of the Lord. Excuse me.
