Attention! Listen up! 2 Kings 6 is about a famine in the land of Israel. During this time, the prophet Elisha was living in a city and he asked the king of Israel to send him some wood from the nearby mountains. The king agreed, but when a group of Syrians found out about it, they sent an army to capture Elisha. However, the Lord sent an angel to protect Elisha and the city from the Syrians. The angel caused an earthquake and the Syrians ran away in terror. Elisha then prayed for the Lord to open their eyes and show them the land of Israel. The Lord did so and the Syrians were able to see the land and the people. This was a reminder to the people of Israel that the Lord was still protecting them.
