Listen up, recruits! This is 2 Kings 8. First off, there's a king of Syria named Ben-hadad who's been causing trouble. He's been attacking Israel and King Jehoram decides to team up with Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom to fight him off. Well, it worked and Ben-hadad retreats.

But then, the Lord sends a prophet to Jehoram to tell him to let the Syrians go. Jehoram doesn't listen and decides to pursue the Syrians. The Lord sends a different prophet to tell Jehoram that he will be punished for not listening.

Next, there's a woman who comes to the king of Israel asking for justice. She tells him that her two sons were killed by their father's creditor, and she wants him to restore her land to her. The king agrees and restores her land.

After that, there's a famine in the land. King Jehoram decides to go to the prophet Elisha for help. Elisha tells him to do what he says and then the famine will end. So, the king does what he says and the famine ends.

Finally, there's a story about a young boy who is a descendant of King David. He's sick and near death, but Elisha tells the king to take him to the palace and let him live there. The king does this and the boy recovers.

That's it for 2 Kings 8, recruits! Dismissed!
