Job 29: Job is still feeling sorry for himself and waxing nostalgic about how good things used to be. He had all the respect, honor, and deference that comes with being wealthy and powerful. He was like a king, surrounded by the people he had helped, and he was a great judge. He was generous and compassionate, and his friends and family respected him. But now, he can no longer find any of that respect, and is sad and depressed. He laments that no one listens to him anymore and that everyone has turned against him.
