Well, in 1 Chronicles 29, King David is getting ready to kick the bucket, so he's making sure all his affairs are in order. He's doing some last-minute giving to the Lord, donating a ton of silver, gold, and other stuff to the temple. He's also giving away horses and chariots for the Lord's service. King David's like, "Take it all, Lord. I'm gonna be dead soon anyway." Then all the leaders of Israel come together and give a bunch of their own stuff to the Lord, too. They're like, "We're gonna miss you, King David. Here, have some more silver and gold, from us to you." And then all the people give an offering to the Lord, and it's a real special moment. Everyone's crying, and it's all very touching. But then they wake up the next day and King David is dead. Ah, well.
