Well, folks, in 1 Chronicles 19, we're talking about war. Specifically, the war between the Ammonites, who were trying to reclaim their lost land, and King David of Israel, who was determined to keep it. Well, first, the Ammonites hired a huge army of Arameans, and David responded by hiring some of his own soldiers from various parts of the land. Then David and his troops went out and beat the Arameans soundly, and the Ammonites were so scared that they offered David money to leave. David accepted the money, but he also made them promise to be his servants forever. So, in the end, David won, and the Ammonites were forced to accept him as their master. Moral of the story: don't mess with King David!
