Listen up, maggots! This is 1 Samuel 20. You better pay attention and get it right, because I'm not gonna repeat it. David is in trouble with King Saul and he's gonna kill him. So David runs away and Jonathan, Saul's son, helps him out. He tells David to hide in the field and Jonathan will come talk to his dad and try to get him to let David go. Jonathan goes to Saul and tells him that David isn't gonna do anything wrong. Saul gets really mad and tells Jonathan to tell David to come back and he'll be fine. Jonathan goes back and tells David what Saul said, but he knows that Saul is just saying it to trap him. So Jonathan promises that if Saul still wants to kill David then Jonathan will let him know. They make a secret plan that every day at noon Jonathan will shoot three arrows and if he doesn't shoot them in a certain direction, then David will know that Saul still wants to kill him.
