Folks, listen up, I'm gonna tell you a story about what happened in Luke 8. My father used to always say, you've got to always pay attention to the good Lord, and literally this is a story all about that.
C'mon, man, Jesus was going around, talking to all these people, and he was telling them some real stories, like, he said the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed. What was that? That's a lot of faith in a tiny little seed, and that's what he was getting at.
See here, Jack, Jesus is a man who knows what he's talking about. He moves on to tell another story, and it's all about how the kingdom of God is like a bunch of leaven, or uh, you know, yeast, that a woman hid in three measures of meal. The point of that story is that God's power and love is like that yeast, and it spreads through us, and it's a powerful thing.
Then Jesus moves on to talking about how he's like a lamp, and how people who are in darkness need to find the light. Jesus is that light, and he's not gonna let anyone stay in the dark.
Anyways, so Jesus is going around and he's healing people. He's healing a woman who's been sick for 12 years and a man who's been possessed by a demon. No malarkey.
Here's the deal, Jack. Jesus is a powerful dude, and he's changing lives. He's showing us the way, and I'm not joking, I tell you what, it's truly powerful stuff. Excuse me, but if you're looking to know more about Jesus and his teachings, read Luke 8.
