Folks, here's the deal. See here, Jack, Jesus is telling us a parable about a fig tree that hasn't produced any fruit in three years. He's asking the gardener why it can't produce fruit, and the gardener says he'll give it one more year, to see if it'll do any better then. Jesus is saying if you don't produce fruit, you're gonna be cut down, literally. No malarkey! C'mon, man! I tell you what, if the fig tree does produce fruit, then you'll be saved. My father used to say, "You gotta take the good with the bad." Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not joking, Jesus is saying there's a path that leads to life, and if you don't take it, you're gonna be cut down. What was that? The path to life is wide, and it's open to everyone. Or uh, you know, you can go the other way, but that's not gonna happen. Excuse me, it's important that we keep our eyes on this parable. Jesus is telling us that if we don't stay on the right path, we won't make it. See, the path to life isn't easy, but it's worth it.
