Peter: Okay so Amos 8 starts off with Amos, the prophet, seeing a vision of a basket of ripe fruit.

Lois: That sounds delicious.

Stewie: What do you expect? It's the Bible, not a food network show.

Brian: Anyway, Amos is then told by God that the end is near because the Israelites are being bad and are failing to follow God's laws.

Peter: Yeah, so God says that the people are just trying to get rich, they're cheating people and they're not even bothering to take time off to worship him.

Lois: It sounds like God wasn't too happy.

Stewie: Yeah, and then God says that he's going to send a famine and that the people won't even be able to buy food with money.

Brian: Then Amos ends the chapter by saying that everyone will mourn and that the dead will be better off than the living.

Peter: That's a bummer. Sounds like the end times are near. Better get our Jersey Shore outfits ready.
