Well, folks, Amos 8 is an interesting one. It starts off with God showing Amos a basket of ripe fruit, which he says is a sign of the punishment he has in store for Israel. Then God is all like, 'You've been taking advantage of the poor, and that's not cool.' So he warns them that they'll be exiled and their feasts will be turned into mourning. But he also says that he'll bring back a remnant of the people and that they will be able to rebuild their land. So, moral of the story? Don't take advantage of the poor, or God will get you good!
