Peter (as narrator): Alright, folks, it's time for a Bible summary like you've never heard before. This one is from the book of Amos, chapter 1.

Lois: Ugh, I'm not sure I even know what Amos is.

Peter: Well, Lois, it's one of the books of the Old Testament. It's a minor prophet who preaches doom and gloom for the people of the Northern Kingdom of Israel who have strayed from God.

Cleveland: Alright, so what's the gist?

Peter: Well, God is mad at the people of Israel for their sins and wants to punish them. He mentions specifically the people of Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, and Moab, who have all done terrible things.

Stewie: Like what?

Peter: Well, they've been cruel to their enemies and have trampled the rights of their own citizens. God says that their punishment will come in the form of fire and destruction.

Brian: Wow, sounds like Judgment Day is coming for those guys.

Lois: And what about everyone else?

Peter: God also condemns Judah and Israel for their sins. He says that he will send a famine and an enemy army to punish them too.

Stewie: Talk about getting caught in the crossfire!

Peter: Yeah, so there you have it. Amos chapter 1. Nothing like a good old-fashioned dose of divine retribution to make you think twice about being naughty!
