Listen up! 2 Samuel 2 starts off with an old man named Abner making a deal with the house of Saul that he is going to make Ishbosheth the king of Israel. Abner puts him on the throne in Hebron, and Ishbosheth rules over Israel for two years.

Meanwhile, David has been declared king of Judah in Hebron, but he has a score to settle with Saul's house. He sends out messengers to the other tribes of Israel to tell them that he should be their king, too.

One day, Abner and some of his men get into a fight with Joab and his men. Abner kills Asahel, Joab's brother, in the fight and flees. Joab and his men chase after Abner and eventually catch him. Abner then agrees to bring all of the people of Israel to Hebron to make David the king of Israel.

So, David is made king of Israel, and the people of Israel swear loyalty to him. After that, David goes to Jerusalem and makes it his capital. He also goes to war against the Philistines and defeats them. The chapter ends with David's men bringing the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem, and David sacrificing to the Lord.

So, that's 2 Samuel 2 in a nutshell. Now pay attention, because tomorrow we'll be talking about 2 Samuel 3!
