Good evening, I'm Norm MacDonald and this is Weekend Update. So in Nehemiah 10, it's all about a covenant. The people of Israel come together and swear a solemn oath to keep the law, and they pledge to follow God's commands and pay their taxes. They also promise to give a portion of their crops and livestock to the priests and Levites who serve in the Temple. And they promise to look after the widows and orphans, and the aliens living among them. So, it's all very noble, but then they threaten to curse anyone who doesn't comply with the covenant. So, moral of the story: don't mess with the Israelites, or you might get cursed. That's Nehemiah 10, I'm Norm MacDonald, and you're welcome.
