Folks, here's the deal. I remember my father used to say, "Listen, Jack, no malarkey - there's a lot of history to be found in the Bible." Well, 1 Chronicles 20 tells us all about a guy named Shobi, who was from the land of Ammon. He brought gifts to David - c'mon, man! - and a whole bunch of barley, a hundred thousand cakes of raisins, a hundred thousand cakes of figs, and a hundred thousand measures of wine. It was a lot of food - literally a ton!

But then there was also a giant - excuse me - who was from the land of the Philistines. His name was Goliath. See here, Jack, he had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot. Now, what was that? Six fingers, six toes - it's like something out of a fairy tale! But I'm not joking - this was a real guy. David and his men fought and defeated him.

But that's not all. There was a battle between the Philistines and the Israelites later on. They were fighting over a town called Gezer. The Philistines were winning, but then David stepped in and he put an end to it. Or uh, you know, he made a treaty - not gonna happen that they would no longer fight each other. That's the story of 1 Chronicles 20. A long time ago, but still a real history lesson.
