Folks, let me tell ya, 1 Chronicles 5 is all about the sons of Reuben and the tribes of Israel. See here, Jack, it all started a long time ago when Reuben had three sons: Hanoch, Pallu, and Hezron. So, here's the deal, these three sons and their descendants were the leaders of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of the tribe of Manasseh. What's more, the men of war from these tribes took possession of the land of Gilead east of the Jordan River. Or uh, you know, the Lord was with them and gave them success. C'mon, man! So, literally, Reuben, Gad, and half of the Manasseh were very powerful and had a lot of livestock. No malarkey! My father used to say, "If you have a lot of livestock, you have a lot of wealth." I'm not joking - it's true! But then, here's the thing, the people of Reuben, Gad, and half of the Manasseh had to fight against the Hagrites and all their allies. I tell ya what, they won the battle and took possession of the land. But then, as you can expect, they had to give a portion of the land they conquered to the Lord. So, that's 1 Chronicles 5! Excuse me.
