Folks, here's the deal: 1 Chronicles 6 is all about the Levites who were appointed to serve in the Sanctuary. The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Gershon's sons were Libni and Shimei. Kohath's sons were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Merari's sons were Mahli and Mushi. See here, Jack, no malarkey. Amram's sons were Aaron and Moses, and Aaron's sons were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Eleazar's sons were Phinehas, Abishua, Bukki, Uzzi, Zerahiah, and Meraioth. My father used to say, 'Literally, these were the leaders of the Levites in the days of David.' Excuse me, I'm not joking, these Levites were appointed to sing praises and give thanks to the Lord and to minister in the Temple of the Lord. And, c'mon man, what was that? They were also appointed to bless in His name, forever and ever. Or uh, you know, that's not gonna happen. That's the summary of 1 Chronicles 6. I tell you what, it's a good one.
