So, Exodus 36: The Israelites have been freed from slavery in Egypt and are now making their way to the Promised Land, and they’ve got a lot of work to do. In this chapter, they get busy building the tabernacle, which is basically a really fancy tent. And it’s a lot of work, so they even get some extra help from some of the more crafty members of the tribe. Then, of course, they do what any group of people does when they’re about to embark on a big journey: they take a bunch of stuff with them. So, they pack up all the materials they need for their journey, and they’re ready to go. But, not so fast…they realize that they need someone to oversee the building of the tabernacle, so they get Bezalel on the job. He’s got some pretty impressive skills, so it looks like they’re in good hands.
