Batman: *Looking at Robin* It's time to review the chapter, Boy Wonder. This is 1 Chronicles 28.

Robin: Right you are, Batman! This chapter is all about King David preparing Solomon, his son, to become the new king after his death.

Batman: *Nods* Yes, King David gathered together the leaders of Israel and announced that Solomon was the one God had chosen to be the next king.

Joker: *Interrupting* Ha ha ha! What a joke! A king? What makes them think they can be so powerful?

Batman: *Glaring at Joker* David made sure Solomon had the support of the people of Israel. He instructed them to help Solomon build the Temple of the Lord. David also gave Solomon the plans for the Temple and all its furnishings.

Robin: David wasn't just a king, he was a wise leader. He made sure Solomon had the resources and knowledge he needed to be successful.

Joker: *Scoffs* Yeah, that's great, but what about all the power? Who gets to be in charge?

Batman: *Fixing Joker with a steely gaze* David made sure that Solomon was in charge. He gave him the authority to lead the people of Israel and to be the high priest of the Temple.

Robin: *Smiling* Sounds like King David was a great leader. He made sure his son would be well-prepared to take his place.

Batman: *Nodding* That's right. He was a wise and powerful king.
