So the Lord says, "Okay, I'm gonna send some wild animals your way, and they're gonna eat you up!" And the people of Jerusalem are like, "Gah! What did we do wrong?" So the Lord's like, "Oh, you know, you did the usual stuff. →

Listen up, recruits! Ezekiel 14 starts off with a lot of 'ifs' - IF a bunch of sinners come to the prophet looking for God's message, THEN God will answer them with a warning. THEN He'll give 'em a list of disasters that'll come if they don't repent, AND THEN they'll know that God's punishing their evil ways. →

Batman: Robin, the prophet Ezekiel has had a vision of judgment for the people of Israel! Robin: Holy prophecy, Batman! What did he see? Batman: He saw that even if the most righteous of Israel's leaders seek to save the nation, they will not be able to prevent God's judgment. →

Listen, Jack, Ezekiel 14 is all about God's judgement coming down on the people of Israel. See here, Jack, God is dishing out punishment to the people for their sins, literally. And he says, "No malarkey!" C'mon, man! He's gonna send famine and pestilence to the land and the people are gonna suffer for their sins. →

Ezekiel 14 is a sad! chapter. God is warning the people of Israel about their idolatry - "many people are saying" it is a huge problem. God tells Ezekiel to tell the people that if they don't stop worshipping idols, that He will bring disaster upon them. →
